# 20 Years of Gems: Let Me Take You Back to the Beginning

**August 14, 2006.**

Twenty years ago, I pressed publish.

I didn't know then what that simple act would become.

I didn't have a 20-year plan. I wasn't building an ecosystem. I wasn't thinking about automation, CRM systems, technology, events, fashion, wellness, community, or all the different pieces that would eventually become part of my world.

I had something to say.

So I started a blog.

**Gems of the Day** was born.

And somehow, through all the changes that life brings, it stayed.

### Twenty years is a long time to keep showing up.

Think about everything that can happen in two decades.

People grow.
Businesses change.
Technology transforms.
Relationships evolve.
Dreams get bigger.
Some dreams disappear completely and make room for better ones.

And yet, somewhere along the way, I kept collecting gems.

Some were lessons.

Some were observations.

Some were people.

Some were ideas that wouldn't leave me alone.

Some were moments I simply needed to put into words.

Looking back now, I realize that I wasn't just writing blog posts.

**I was documenting a becoming.**

### From a blog to an ecosystem

The funny thing about looking backward is that you can see connections that weren't visible while you were living them.

The woman who started blogging in 2006 couldn't have known exactly where those words would lead.

But I can see it now.

The creativity.

The fashion.

The technology.

The businesses.

The community.

The conversations.

The events.

The wellness.

The systems.

The relationships.

The ideas that turned into other ideas.

They were all pieces of the same story.

**The blog was one of the first pieces.**

Today, I'm building an ecosystem around those same things that have always fascinated me: creating, connecting, teaching, experimenting, building businesses, bringing people together, and finding new ways to turn an idea into something real.

### So we're going back.

For the next month, I'm opening the doors to the archive.

We're going to revisit some of the gems from this journey.

Some may make me laugh.

Some may make me cringe.

Some may remind me of a version of myself I had almost forgotten.

And some may surprise me with how relevant they still are.

That's the beauty of an archive.

It doesn't just show you where you've been.

**It shows you what has remained.**

Twenty years later, I am still curious.

Still creating.

Still building.

Still sharing.

Still collecting gems.

And I'm still becoming.
